Experimenting with the Shadows of AI
Esse est percipi, goes the old adage: to be is to be perceived. It’s another way of saying that existence is not grounded in matter, but in mind, and that as our understanding of reality changes, so too do our perceptions. Some things, nevertheless, remain constant. Beauty—however culturally inconsistent—continues to inspire. Its spark can be found in works of art that speak to our present but aren’t confined to it, works that, however faintly, still experiment with formal and expressive possibilities.
