Stubborn Hope: Reflections on the 2026 Sydney and Venice Biennales
If Biennales can be best judged by their capacity to reflect the tempo of their times, then the 25th Biennale of Sydney, Rememory 2026 seemed poised to out-perform all others. By the close of its opening night events, the BoS had been absorbed into the performative ‘totalwar’ that permeates our social-mediatised cultural ecosystem.
