Artists at work: Lorna Kantilla, Alfonso Puautjimi and Jane Tipuamantumirri
Ngaruwanajirri, ‘helping one another’ in Tiwi, is our art centre in the town of Wurrumiyanga, (population c1500) on Bathurst Island. We support Tiwi from the community to create ochre paintings, ironwood carvings, batik on silk and lino prints. Ngaruwanajirri is located in The Keeping Place, close to the bush among the sound of the local birds in the area of the community known as Forestry.
