Photographing Motherhood
I am not a mother, but as a woman motherhood looms large in my mind. As I found myself navigating this newfound concern, I sought understanding through art. My knowledge of motherhood has thus come to be fundamentally informed and complicated by the representation of the subject by artists who make visible the unseen, the undervalued and the ambivalent narratives of female subjectivity.
