Terraforming ARIs: Speculations on the Artist Run Initiative
The Artist Run Initiative (ARI) is a (re)generative space for artists and miscellaneous creatives to experiment, collaborate and present new ideas. It’s almost as if artists entering these spaces are genetically dispositioned to embrace ideas of resistance: maybe a genetic mutation, or a glitch in their primary software. Whatever its origin, to collectivise and disrupt cultural narratives is instilled within the ARI artist’s DNA — no matter how briefly they populate the space.
