Considering the Animals

Issue 38:1 | March 2018

Recognising that threats to our multi-species future lie at the heart of ecological debates in the Anthropocene era, this edition seeks to broadly reflect on human agency and concerns to engage with animal behaviour and consciousness. The “animal turn” is a belated response
to the crisis evolutionary theory has posed for humanism, mounting a challenge to biological and cultural determinism through the practices of artists and writers that channel animal-centric viewpoints.
