My Sovereign Mind: A practice in two parts
I often think about how we are more than 2,000 generations old, but I am new, and my children are even newer, with our connection to the mountains woven into our spirits. I am a Wooloowoorroong Gunditjmara woman, a descendant of magic people, with Djabwurrung and Taungurung grandparents. I’m the granddaughter of immigrants from Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, India, and from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I am a mother of two young children who will carry our stories and pass them down like secret treasures to our descendants, an inheritance colonialism will not control again.
