KAB101: An interview with Annemarie Kohn
A painter who mainly uses acrylic, aerosol spray paints and inks, KAB101 began painting Honeysuckle Lane in Prospect, South Australia in 1997, after approaching a local resident whose wall backed onto the lane. Along with fellow artists RANK, who painted an ANKR piece and MASIKA, who did a MAS piece with a squid going through the letters, KAB painted a traditional wildstyle piece with a character. As he slowly received permission to paint the other walls in the lane, it became a signature location for his work - a known destination showing the development of his artistic practice over a sustained period of time, and unofficially called “KAB's Lane” by those who knew of its location.
