Do You Get It?
Issue 46:2 | Wirltuti / Spring 2026
Editors: Eleen Deprez & Una Rey
As global crises escalate, this issue centres wit, humour, and satire in contemporary art as a means to subvert, to unsettle … and to have a laugh. The writers explore the paradoxical nature of comedy in art, who’s telling the joke and how, and where we might find shared punchlines. Some lean into irony, some court silliness, and others ask, ‘while our collective humanity is being tested on all fronts, can we afford the joke at all?’
