Roy Ascott is a pioneer of the place of cybernetics and telematics in art and has worked with issues of art, technology and consciousness since the 1960s. He directs the Planetary Collegium, which he founded in 1994 at the University of Plymouth. He is Visiting Professor in Design and Media Arts, University of California, Los Angeles. He has shown in many international exhibitions.
