The Image Issue

At the end of five years of publication Artlink has paused in its flow of critical writing to mark its first demi-decade with a collection of works by South Australian artists. These were assembled from works submitted in response to Artlink's public invitation and selected by the committee - Louise Dauth, Alex Randell, Sue Hall, Rachel Boyce, Jenni Robertson, and Stephanie Britton, with guest consultants Jeanette Brodie and Craig Franklin. There are several layers in the rationale for the image issue. From an Artlink point of view never before (and perhaps never again?) has there been an opportunity to use full-page reproductions of works. The pressure on the space available with so many exhibitions and other issues to cover each 8 weeks makes this an impossible luxury.
