Ihab Hassan is a literary theorist and author. He received two Guggenheim and three Fulbright fellowships, was awarded honorary degrees from Uppsala and Giessen, and is the author of fifteen books, including The Postmodern Turn, and the memoirs Out of Egypt and Between the Eagle and the Sun.
