Seen and unseen artists: cultural economics
Mining has loomed large in Aboriginal communities for many generations now and is predicted to cast an even larger shadow in the future. Much has been discussed and analysed in regards to Western economics, but there has been a dearth of examination with regard to the effects that mining is having upon Aboriginal communities and their creative and cultural economies. This article seeks to contour some of the effects mining is having upon the Aboriginal community’s creative economic practices inter-generationally, also to demonstrate its broader relevance.
