Clare Robertson is a painter, living and working in Darwin. In 1999 she accompanied the soldiers of Norforce, Darwin Squadron, most of whom are Aboriginal, on a training expedition to their remote homelands in Coburg Peninsula. She also traveled with the Darwin-based 5/7th Battalion, RAR, to East Timor in February 2000, visiting Balibo and Batugade when the province was still under INTERFET administration. Several documentary drawings from these expeditions are now in the collection of the Australian War Memorial.
