Three trends in contemporary art from Southeast Asia

Tan Boon Hui is Director of the Singapore Art Museum. His research interests include the remaking of traditions among young contemporary artists, contemporary Southeast Asian and Chinese art, and Biennales in Asia. He has co-curated Negotiating Home, History Nation: Two Decades of Contemporary Art in Southeast Asia, 1991-2011. He has also programmed large scale performance festivals for the National Museum of Singapore including Under The Crescent Moon, a festival of Arab and Turkish performance and film in 2007 as well as the first two editions of the Night Festival in 2007 and 2008. He is Director of the organizing secretariat for the Singapore Biennale 2013.
